If you are in crisis or you are having thoughts about harming yourself or someone else call 111, 999 or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department.
Our community has had to ‘come out’ in various ways for many years without help or focused LGBTQI support . This is not always an easy time and as a nonprofit LGBTQI+ organisation, we are a help and support service that want's to to be there to help both those in need within our community, but also their family and friends who want to understand, help and support them.
RLSN has been created and managed by Emma and Laura-coleman-Shaw a marriedLGBTQI+ couple living in Liverpool.
***Hate crime should always be reported, but if you are in a situation where you do not feel safe, the offender is still present or you are someone else is hurt or seriously in danger you should call 999 as soon as possible ****
Hate crimes are any crimes that are targeted at a person because of hostility or prejudice towards that person’s:
Reported hate crime against the LGBT+ community has doubled in the last 3 years (The hate crime report, 2019) so its very important this is taken seriously.
True vision is a website which has been set up so hate crime can be reported online and you don’t have to attend a police station- the thought of which alone can be intimidating. The website states the police take all hate crime seriously and will investigate it, even if you do not leave your details. However, to be able to take the investigation forward and potentially prosecute the offender, it would be much easier if they are able to contact you and also to be offer you support.
